" Vase: Club Foot or Pied - bot", c 900 - Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Note : from Michoaean, Mexico.

N.B.The depicted may be a malformation (abnormal morphology of components of the foot) or a deformation (due to external forces distorting the development of inherently normal tissues). In medical parlance, this foot points toward the "midline" of the body, thus it can be called pes varus and because it also shows an excessive concavity it also is a pes cavus - in combination it is a pes cavus varus. (see an illustrated overview that can be found searching for "foot")
