In contrast to previous portraits painted decades earlier (search for related images), the peri-ocular landmarks here are more obvious - note in particular the eyelids. As indicated in the companion website Clinical Eye Openers (series of images concerning "Habsburg"), the signs that signal about the Habsburg facies (H+) do not only concern the "Habsburg Jaw", as most often found in medical sources, but also the cartilages of the nose and eyelids.
