Dr. J. Warkany was a visiting professor and scholar of the Department of Medical Genetics of the College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.
Professor Warkany was also an artist and etcher, many of his etchings illustrate his book "Congenital Malformations - Notes and Comments" which many leading professionals consider to be a classic treatise of the 20th century.
