"Triptolemos in his winged chariot bringing wheat to mankind, Water Jar or Terracotta hydria, Greek, Attic, Attributed to the Troilos Painter", c. 490 B.C Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA

(extract from a museum explanatory note) Athens controlled the sanctuary of Demeter (Ceres) at Eleusis and claimed that the Goddess had given wheat and the secrets of agriculture to Triptolemos, a local prince - a common motif on Attic vases show a youth in a winged chariot dispensing wheat to the world.
