"Boris and Gleb Cathedral", 1200 Chernihiv, Ukraine
A stunning monument to the children of Vladimir the "great", ruler of Kyiv. Both were murdered c. 1015-1019 and are glorified (canonized) by the Orthodox church since 1071.
The name Boris illustrates the admixture of cultures in the region - it can also be written as David (western equivalent) or Burizleif, Boleslaw among other versions.
