HEALTH LIBERTY FREEDOM AMIEL RIGHT CLINIC MEDICINE POETRY DECISION VISION ANALYSIS

In health there is freedom ...
Health is the first of all liberties

Henri-Frederic Amiel  (1821-1881)

Henri-Frederc Amiel was a poet, critic and philosopher born to a Huguenot family relocated to Switzerland from France. He is mostly remembered by his maxims. Among those relevant to poetry and clinical medicine include:

analysis kills spontaneity ...
(perhaps restating an older maxim)
"poetry analyzed, poetry killed").

"The man who insist on seeing with perfect clearness
before he decides  never decides"
(or has dead patients).
