"The Assumption Cathedral (Ukrainian Orthodox, XII c.)" Chernihiv, Ukraine
Chernihiv is not far north-west from Kyiv, it dates back to the VII c., and its Transfiguration Cathedral dates back to 1036. After the Tatar devastation of 1230-1240, the city never fully recovered its political importance. Currently, the town sports a series of Cathedrals and Churches deserving attention.
