"Stress Fear Loneliness " (details from "Twee Waalse boerenkinderen - Two Orphans Holding Hands "), 1888 Leon Frederic (1856-1940) Royal Musuem of Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium

FEAR in the eye of sister orphans - orphanhood may have profound psychological impacts on child development including  "attachment disorders" which facilitates anti-social behavior and crime. On the other hand, "hand-holding" or extending an honest and felt  "helping hand" (in Spanish denoted by "dame una mano" implying "help me") may be a "cheaper" preventive step than the often materialistic and shifting notions often imposed by Social Work professionals.
