"Stern decoration of the English man-of-war called "Royal Charles""

This ship was captured by the Dutch in 1667 and brought to the Republic as a trophy. The relief shows the coat of arms of King Charles II of England. Note the unicorn who has lost his horn and the motto of the Order of the Garter "homi soit qui mal pense" or "shamed be he who thinks evil of it", that is, the King having a mistress. Also note, "Dieu et mon droit" or "God and my right", a stance that royalty is quiet "a" droit to exploit.
