JUPITER REBUKED BY VENUS (APHRODITE)
"Jupiter Rebuked by Venus", 1612 Abraham Janssens (1573-1632) Art Institute, Chicago, Illinois, USA
This scene may suggest that Zeus may have spanked Cupid for shooting his "love" arrows indiscriminately which made even Zeus at risk of becoming a victim of unsolicited and unwelcome feelings of lust.
Note that Janssens competed with his Flemish compatriot Rubens in the production of large scale paintings using ideas from classic mythology.
