"Roman copy (c. 150 AD) of the Head of Aristotle from a bronze per Lyssipus Bust with the Head of Aristotle", 330 BC Lysippus Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Tuscany, Italy

There is a series of this sort of Roman copies from a bronze cast of the head of Aristotle per Lysippus probably cast when Aristotle was still living. The head is set on a modern bust-base.

Aristotle joined Plato's academy at the age of 17 years of age and left 19 years later, shortly after Plato died, to tutor Alexander in Macedonia soon to become "the Great". After some years and travel, he returned to Athens and created a Lyceum - accused of impiety, as Socrates was, he escaped and died shortly after.

Medicine - Aristotle thinking evolved  beyond "hypothetical" notions - he focused on the concrete ... he embraced empiricism - his studies of every scientific discipline render him immortal credits. Among other disciplines, he is the father of Biology, and his Embryology (the first of this sort) and description of malformations are unique. In his view, "malformations were not entirely "against" nature but contrary to the most usual path of development ... (see aphorism regarding "Monster") For Muslims, he is "the first teacher". His name fits his achievements - Arista (the best).
