The H+ facies of Mariana is obvious. Her reproductive history is pathetic: her first child was a daughter that died at 21 years of age; the second and third daughters were stillborn; next, two sons, Felipe Prospero and Fernando Tomas, died at the age of 4 and 1 respectively; and, finally, was born Carlos II, who manifested H+ plus many very serious developmental deficits (see the page dedicated to him). Note that the father or Carlos II and consort of Mariana also manifested H+. It is entirely possible that Carlos II and many of his deceased siblings were "double hit" victims, a vernacular mode to denote that they inherit one H+ mutated gene from Felipe and another H+ mutated gene from their mother Mariana.
